We investigate how scientific fields evolve over time by combining large-scale data analysis, natural language processing, and data visualization. Drawing on datasets of hundreds of thousands of publications — such as those in the field of design since 1960 — we use AI-driven methods to map thematic shifts, collaboration patterns, and emerging trends, revealing how knowledge develops and converges across disciplines.
